Which assistants does the MCP work with?
Claude, ChatGPT and Le Chat (Mistral): MCP is an open standard.
What data can the AI reach through the MCP?
No more and no less than what you already see and can already reach in Biron itself. MCP opens no new perimeter: it rests on the same data dictionary and the same rules. The difference is not the reach, it is the ease — where you almost had to know a piece of data existed to find it in the dictionary, the AI surfaces it on its own.
Do I need particular rights to use the MCP?
Yes. Reaching the MCP requires the "Explorer" role in the Biron profile settings. A user with read-only rights, for instance, can neither query the MCP nor reach your data. Confidentiality is therefore fully preserved: each person reaches only the information their Biron role allows.
Is my data confidential when I use AI?
Yes, but it also depends on how your AI assistant is configured. Biron transmits your data securely and respects your access rights strictly. How that data is then processed and retained by the AI, however, depends directly on the privacy terms you accepted with your AI provider. We recommend checking the privacy and data-use settings inside your AI tool.
Can the AI get its answers wrong?
It works from your certified data, which rules out most errors at the source. Stay in a checking frame of mind for sensitive analyses all the same: MCP makes the data reliable, not your interpretation of it.
